YORK COUNTY — York County Economic & Tourism Development recently announced it has launched a new tool to help locals and visitors make the most of their time in Historic Yorktown.
According to the department, the Visit Yorktown Widget offers an interactive way to discover all the dining, attractions, events and experiences Historic Yorktown has to offer. The app, developed by Visit Widget, allows users to build customized itineraries based on their interests and preferences, according to the announcement.
“Visitors today are looking for simple, seamless ways to plan their trips, and this platform delivers exactly that,” said Deirdre Roesch, Marketing and Communications Manager for York County Economic & Tourism Development. “Whether you’re coming for an afternoon or an extended stay, the Visit Yorktown Widget puts all the best of Historic Yorktown at your fingertips.”
The widget is available on both desktop and mobile devices, with the app available for download on both iPhone and Android devices, allowing users to carry their plans with them wherever they go — even without Wi-Fi or cell service.
A version of the platform will also be available at a kiosk inside the Yorktown Welcome Center, the department said, where guests can build an itinerary on-site, send it directly to their phones and set out on their adventure right away.
