JAMES CITY COUNTY — Jamestown Beach Event Park summer parking fees are set to return Saturday, May 24, for nonresidents.
According to the department’s Facebook page, the non-resident parking fees will be in effect beginning 8 a.m. Saturday and will be charged from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekends and holidays.
There is no parking fee for residents of James City County or the City of Williamsburg. The department said residents may prove residency by providing a valid Virginia driver’s license or a valid Virginia identification card that shows their current address. If the driver’s license or identification card does not show the resident’s current address, they may present a current lease agreement, utility bill or voter registration card along with a photo ID.
The department said a resident is defined as anyone who physically resides in James City County or the City of Williamsburg. Visitors with a Williamsburg address but who pay taxes to another locale are not residents of James City County or the City of Williamsburg.
Parking decals for residents are no longer issued, however, previously issued decals are still valid, provided the decal is readable. Decals that are not readable will no longer be valid and will not be replaced.
All visitors must stop at the attendant booth at the park entrance to either prove residency or pay the parking fee. The payment options are cash, credit/debit cards, checks and mobile devices. More information about the parking fees can be found by visiting the Jamestown Beach Even Park website and clicking on the link to “Park Fees,” or by calling 757-585-9255.
