WILLIAMSBURG — CSX Transportation and Southern Commercial Development LLC recently announced upcoming railroad crossing closures in the Williamsburg area.
On or about March 25, work will begin in Williamsburg. Airport Road and Lightfoot Road rail crossings will be closed to all traffic and will reopen once work is completed.
According to CSX, each crossing closure is expected to last between three and five days. Crossings that serve as the sole access for residents will be prioritized to minimize disruption, with closures targeted for completion within 12 hours.
Work will continue alongside the railroad and will also impact travel in nearby Lanexa.
Signs will be up to mark detour routes while work is ongoing. CSX has also provided a Google Map to show marked closures and the expected timeframe for those closures.
