WILLIAMSBURG— The Virginia Greens Retirement Community celebrated its opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Nov. 14.

Virginia Greens Retirement Community is part of the Resort Lifestyle Communities. The company said after finding success with a location in Richmond it decided to expand to Williamsburg. Virginia Greens is its 59th community out of 61.

Virginia Greens celebrated a groundbreaking two years ago at Old City Barbeque.

“I really applaud any business that’s taken on the challenges in the aftermath of the pandemic,” said Williamsburg Vice Mayor Pat Dent. “Not only construction costs, supply chain delays, staffing, all of that came with the pandemic but they pressed on with this facility.”

“I live just down the street, so I’ve seen this grow either walking by or driving by several times a day. I’ve seen it grow from site work to what it is today in this beautiful facility,” Dent continued.

Dent also applauded the cleanliness Virginia Greens maintained during its construction process.

The ribbon cutting featured both members of the Virginia Greens staff and residents. Following the ceremony, guests were invited to tour and enjoy various activities at the residence.

The facility is located at 4301 Battery Blvd. For more information about the facility, visit the official website.
