NFL members with Tribe Football ties (Tribe Athletics)

WILLIAMSBURG — William & Mary football will be well represented when NFL teams begin preseason training camp this week, as 23 former Tribe players and coaches will begin preparations for the upcoming 2024 season.

The impressive group is highlighted by five players on active rosters: Nate Lynn (Lions), Bill Murray (Bears), Luke Rhodes (Colts), Colby Sorsdal (Lions) and Owen Wright (Ravens).

The long list of former W&M players/coaches currently coaching in the NFL includes: Mike Tomlin (Steelers, head coach), Sean McDermott (Bills, head coach), Brian Daboll (Giants, head coach), Dan Quinn (Commanders, head coach), Joe Brady (Bills, offensive coordinator), Mark Duffner (Bengals, assistant), Brendan Nugent (Seahawks, assistant), DJ Mangas (Bills, assistant), Christian Parker (Eagles, assistant), Kevin Rogers (Browns, assistant), Danny Smith (Steelers, assistant), Ryan Smith (Cardinals, assistant) and Christian Taylor (Bills, assistant).

Additionally, five former members of the Tribe work in player personnel — Brent Caprio (Commanders), Andrew Caskin (Cardinals), Tyler Claytor (Commanders), Ted Monago (Rams) and Mike Potts (Bengals).

W&M will continue preparations for the upcoming 2024 campaign when players report on July 28, while it will kick off the season when it hosts VMI at Zable Stadium on Aug. 29.
