WILLIAMSBURG — The League of Women Voters of the Williamsburg Area will again sponsor the popular Foreign Policy Association series “Great Decisions” in 2023.

The series offers eight weekly lectures on Tuesday mornings beginning in February.

This is the 40th year the League of Women Voters of Williamsburg has brought the program to the library.

Topics planned for this year include energy geopolitics, war crimes, China and the U.S., economic warfare, politics in Latin America, global famine, Iran at a crossroads, and climate migration.

“For years the Williamsburg area League of Women Voters (LWV-WA) has conducted the Great Decisions program as a key component of its civic education mission,” said Don Schilling, board director for the series. “Given the complexities of today’s global environment, this program is more essential than ever.  The topics are timely, and our expert speakers address them with great insight.”

Registration for League members and for past non-League participants has already begun, however, the general public can sign up starting Dec. 7 on the League of Women Voters website. The cost for an individual is $65 and includes one briefing book published by the Foreign Policy Association; family/household registrations are $90.

The series offers eight weekly lectures on Tuesday mornings beginning in February. More information can be found on the League of Women Voters website.
