Driving around the William & Mary Campus is about to get more complicated in the next few months.
On Tuesday, campus officials announced new road closures as it enters phase three of the West Utility Plant Project.
There will be a one-lane closure at the campus’ bridge, said Suzanne Clavet, spokeswoman for the college. That closure began Tuesday.
Then from Dec. 19 to Jan. 16 there will be a two-lane closure with no cut-through traffic across the campus’ bridge. To access the north-side of campus, drivers will have to follow Jamestown Road to Richmond Road. During this time, there will be traffic control devices in place along to roads which will moderate traffic during the single-lane closures.

Landrum Drive will continue is current one-way flow of travel throughout phase three.
The project involves installing new lines that will provide chilled water and steam between the new plant and associated buildings. Work on the project started requiring changes to traffic patterns in August.
The project is expected to total approximately $30,264,000 when completed in January, according to the college’s website.
