
Billsburg Brewery will release an IPA in honor of Chad Dermyer, a Virginia State trooper killed in the of duty in 2016.
“She (Michelle Dermyer) happened to be here a few months back and said she would love to make a beer in honor of her husband,” said Dave Braum, owner of Billsburg Brewery.

According to the brewery’s announcement, the 756 IPA is actually Dermyer’s badge number and the IPA is brewed with local ingredients from his home state of Michigan.
The goal is to raise $7,560 during the weekend of the beer’s release and a portion of the proceeds will go to Unity Ride.
It’s not immediately clear how much of a portion that will be.
“We won’t know until that weekend,” Braum said in regards to how much money the brewery plans to donate to the Unity Ride charity. “My goal is to find some sort of corporate sponsor to be able to match it.”
The 756 IPA goes on sale at the Billsburg Brewery, 2054 Jamestown Road on March 29.
