After almost a year, Williamsburg Police have arrested a man in connection with a burglary that happened last October near William & Mary.

Malcom Thomas Temple Jr., 31, of Williamsburg is accused of breaking into a home in the 900 block of Jamestown Road on Oct. 21, 2017, and taking electronic items and an unknown amount of money, said Williamsburg Police spokesman Maj. Greg Riley.

Biological evidence links Temple to the break-in, Riley said.

In February, James City County Police found Temple and items from the burglary while executing a search warrant at a residence in Portofino Court. Based on the evidence, an investigator obtained a DNA sample from Temple, Riley said.

On Friday, the DNA evidence showed that Temple could not be excluded as a contributor to the biological identifiers found at the scene of the October burglary, and warrants were issued for his arrested on charges of breaking and entering, destruction of property and grand larceny, Riley said.

Temple was arrested on Sunday, Riley said.
