Travelers planning to fly on American Airlines from Newport News/Williamsburg International Airport or Norfolk International Airport this week may be eligible for waivers if their flights are affected by Hurricane Florence.
The fee for travelers to change their itinerary will be waived under the following conditions:
- Tickets must have been purchased before Sept. 10.
- Tickets are for travel between Sept. 13 and 16.
- Rebooked travel must take place by Sept. 19.

In addition, Southwest Airlines, which flies out of Norfolk, is cautioning travelers that operations there may be affected as well.
