VIRGINIA BEACH — Live on Atlantic is bringing funk to the Oceanfront Friday and Saturday.
The Virginia Beach FunkFest Beach Party will feature music generated over the years by influential legends such as James Brown, Sly and the Family Stone, George Clinton, and The Ohio Players, according to Live on Atlantic’s website.
This event is free and open to the public. There will be preferred-viewing two-day passes through Ticketmaster.
The Virginia Beach FunkFest Beach Party will take place on a stage on the beach at 24th Street.

Friday, Aug. 24:
- 5 p.m. – Preferred viewing opens for seating (ticket required, chairs not provided)
- 5:40 p.m. – DJ Heart Attack
- 7 p.m. – Kustom Made Band
- 8 p.m. – Slave
- 9:45 p.m. – Bar-Kays
Saturday, Aug. 25:
- 5 p.m. – Preferred viewing opens for seating (ticket required, chairs not provided)
- 6:30 p.m. – DJ Heart Attack
- 8 p.m. – Lakeside
- 9:45 p.m. – SOS Band
