Police find teen who ran away while on William & Mary campus

WILLIAMSBURG — A teenager who ran away while on the campus of William & Mary has been found safe, police said Wednesday.

A James City County Police officer found the 15-year-old boy around 1:45 p.m. Thursday in the 7800 block of Pocahontas Trail near Busch Gardens, police spokeswoman Stephanie Williams said.

That’s about 5 miles from the W&M campus, according to Google maps.

The teen was not affiliated with the university and was a part of a group taking a walk through campus when he ran away, W&M spokeswoman Suzanne Clavet said.

The teen, who is from Chesapeake, will be reunited with his guardian, Clavet said.
