Fitness fanatics can get excited for the Jamestown triathlon festival this weekend, but for everyone else the event could cause some traffic.

The Jamestown Olympic Triathlon and Jamestown Sprint Triathlon will temporarily close portions of several James City County roads Saturday, according to a county news.

Motorists may encounter delays between 7:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. on the following roads:

  • Jamestown Road near the Jamestown-Scotland Ferry
  • Greensprings Road
  • 4H Club Road
  • John Tyler Highway
  • The intersection of John Tyler Highway and Greensprings Road
  • The intersection of Monticello Avenue and John Tyler Highway

Police will direct traffic during the race. However, bicyclists will be on the roadways throughout the day, so drivers should still use caution.
