For those trying to feel reggae vibes this spring, Matisyahu has announced that he will be coming to Newport News in March with his Forest of Faith tour.
Matisyahu will perform at Boathouse Live on March 15. Tickets are $20 and $30 for VIP passes. The venue is located at 11800 Merchants Walk, Suite 100, in Newport News.
Matisyahu is a Grammy-nominated artist who has created his own space in reggae music, according to a press release from Press Junkie. His hit singles “One Day” and “King Without a Crown” have garnered international recognition and developed a diverse fanbase.
“Undercurrent,” Matisyahu’s newest album, is described as a collaborative and freeform embodiment of the artist as Matisyahu brings instrumental improvisation and vocals.
“Forest of Faith means entering into the unknown of the music and creating unique musical experiences born out of the immediate here and now,” Matisyahu said. “I am looking forward to starting out 2018 dancing, listening, singing, and making music together in the Forest of Faith tour this February and March in a town near you.”
Matisyahu travels with Aaron Dugan on guitar, Stu Brooks on bass, Joe Tomino on drums, and Big Yuki on the keyboard.
The artist has started his tour after dropping a three-part video series on the making of his newest album.
