Two railroads crossings in James City County will be closed this week, and the Virginia Department of Transportation is urging motorists to plan ahead.
The CSX Corp. has scheduled railroad crossing closures on Diascund Road and South Waterside Drive, according to a VDOT traffic alert.
The closure at Diascund Road will start at 7 a.m. Tuesday and be located at the Hockaday Road intersection, the alert said.
That closure will run through 7 p.m. Friday.
On Thursday, the railroad crossing at the intersection of South Waterside and Riverside drives will be closed from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., the alert said.
CSX will set the detours, and asks motorists use alternate routes while the closures are in place.
Dates of the closures are also subject to change pending inclement weather or other conditions, the alert said.
