A television show run from a 1968 Cadillac will cruise through Greater Williamsburg on Friday and Saturday.

Discovery Channel’s “Road Trip Masters” will feature Greater Williamsburg as its destination in a half-hour show, which will film in the area this weekend.

“We decided to shoot Road Trip Masters in Greater Williamsburg because it’s a wonderful example of a distinct American destination that’s ripe for rediscovery,” show co-host Nick Kessler said in a press release. “Greater Williamsburg is the indisputable center of American history, but it’s also a booming region that has something for everyone, from outdoor activities to fine dining and shopping to museums, spas and craft beverages.”

“Road Trip Masters” is hosted by two educators, Nick Kessler and Brian Fulmer. The show’s mission is to “tell the story of unique travel destinations” across America, the release stated.

The Greater Williamsburg episode will be the first based in Virginia. The show has previously filmed in other East Coast locations, such as the Finger Lakes, N.Y., and Newport, R.I.

The first season aired in 2016 on Destination America, one of Discovery Channel’s networks. The second season is currently in production. The show featuring Greater Williamsburg will air nationally in early 2018, the release stated.

“It’s been a pleasure working with Nick and the Road Trip Masters team so far,” Corrina Ferguson, director of the destination marketing campaign for Williamsburg Area Destination Marketing Committee, said in the release. “We are looking forward to the filming this weekend, and to seeing the episode about Greater Williamsburg air early next year.”
