VIRGINIA BEACH — A city man was arrested after police say he robbed a veterinary clinic at gunpoint.
Shortly after 6 p.m. Wednesday night, police say Roscoe Charles Jr., 24, of the 700 block of Casual Court, entered Strawbridge Animal Care on General Booth Boulevard. An armed Charles demanded money and fled on foot after receiving it, police said. Nobody was injured.
Officers and members of the department’s K-9 team searched the area and found Charles within a quarter of a mile of the alleged robbery, police said. Charles was arrested without incident.
Charles was charged with robbery, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He is being held in the Virginia Beach Correctional Center without bond, police said.
