Get ready for some beer, dumplings and cheer, or as the Germans call it: “Bier,” “Knödel” and “jubeln.”
The second annual Bier Fest returns to Busch Gardens this weekend. The eight-day event, held in the park’s Oktoberfest village, will feature over 100 different beers from all over the world, including local beers such as Alewerks and Virginia Beer Co.
The festival will take place over three consecutive weekends, starting Sept. 2. Each day’s festivities will run from 11 a.m. until the close of the park, according to a Busch Gardens press release.
Two local breweries will be featured each weekend and can be found at Beer Row near the attractions Curse of DarKastle.
“We add 32 taps to the Oktoberfest Village for Bier Fest,” Busch Gardens Executive Chef Justin Watson said in the release. “Plus we have 30 taps at the Brauhaus Craft Bier Room and all the taps that are available in Das Festhaus. It’s lots of beer and lots of great food.”
Bier Fest will also feature authentic Bavarian food, and live music from local bands Harley Boone, the Happy Dutchman and the Kevin Mac Band.
