The Williamsburg Area Transit Authority is searching for citizens to join its Riders Advisory Committee, which offers feedback to the authority about which bus routes should be expanded, reduced or modified.
The committee, which meets several times a year, helps WATA identify public transit needs in the Historic Triangle, according to a WATA news release.
There are openings on the committee, and anyone interested in joining is invited to attend a meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Williamsburg Regional Library.
Citizens interested in joining the committee can also contact Amy Hibbard, WATA’s senior communications specialist by calling 220-5493.
The committee will meet again March 27, May 28, July 23, Sept. 24 and Nov. 19. Thursday’s meeting is on the same day the authority is set to begin a new bus route serving the Jamestown area.
WATA provides bus service throughout Williamsburg and much of James City County. Its buses also serve Upper York County, and service is available to Surry County and to the Hampton Roads Transit system in Newport News via a connection at Lee Hall.
