A 32-year-old James City County man has been arrested in connection with an alleged rape that occurred early Monday morning in Carter’s Village off Pocahontas Trail.
A James City County Police report shows Anthony Mayfield Utley pushed a 31-year-old woman onto the floor during an argument then forcefully had sex with her.
When officers arrived at the home in the 1600 block of Skiffes Creek Circle at around 3:10 a.m. Monday, they found a window broken. They later learned Utley had thrown a coffee maker at the window, a police report states.
The woman was taken to the hospital and given an examination, where she was found to be suffering from marks on her neck, bruising and abrasions to her breasts, arms and legs and a tear in her vaginal area.
Utley was arrested and charged with rape, sodomy and kidnapping.
