
Three upcoming information sessions in the Historic Triangle will offer unemployed and underemployed people details on a program designed to help them start their own businesses.
Stephanie McCombs of Launch Hampton Roads will present information on how to get involved with a program for unemployed, underemployed and dislocated workers, students and military veterans who are over 18, qualify financially and are U.S. citizens, according to a news release from Launch Hampton Roads.
The candidates selected to participate in the 40-hour program, which runs from Sept. 29 to Oct. 3 at the Mason School of Business at the College of William & Mary, will receive instruction on all aspects of business from William & Mary professors. After completing the courses, participants will get up to six months of one-on-one mentoring to help them with their business.
The information sessions are scheduled for the following times:
- 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Williamsburg Community Center (401 N. Boundary St.)
- 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 27 at the Virginia Employment Commission (5325 John Tyler Highway)
- 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 2 at Legacy Hall (4301 New Town Ave.)
