Students in the York County School Division will need to make up another day for lost time due to inclement weather.
In addition to previously scheduled makeup days, the division announced Friday students will also need to attend school April 21, the day after Easter Sunday.
Three scheduled half-days, Feb. 28, April 4 and May 9, will now be full days of school and, as previously announced, students will now report to school Feb. 17 for a full day of school. Report cards, originally scheduled to be issued Feb. 6, will be pushed back to Feb. 13.
Several snow days this winter have led to the need of YCSD to make up for lost instructional time.
Williamsburg-James City County Public Schools also recently announced elementary recess would be limited to 15 minutes, school days would be five minutes longer for elementary students and two half days — March 12 and June 12 — would become full days to make up lost instructional hours.
