Living Trust of Peter Criscuolo Donates $20,000 to York County

YorkCountyLogoThe York County Board of Supervisors accepted at their Nov. 19 meeting two $10,000 donations on the behalf of the Living Trust of the late Peter Criscuolo.

Members of Criscuolo’s family attended the meeting to formally present the checks to the county. Per the terms of the trust, one of the donations will be used to purchase more park benches for Riverwalk Landing. The other $10,000 donation went to the York County Division of Parks, Recreation and Tourism. The trust did not specify how the county should use those funds.

“Municipalities are blessed when they have citizens who live in the county, work in the county, and when they pass away they think enough of the county to live an extraordinary gift,” said Walt Zaremba, the chairman of the York County Board of Supervisors.

Criscuolo was the owner of the Flag Center of Virginia, which is located on George Washington Memorial Highway (Route 17) in Yorktown.

“Mr. Criscuolo’s generous donations will benefit visitors enjoying the Yorktown waterfront and participants in the County’s recreational programs,” said York County Administrator James McReynolds. “On behalf of the citizens of York County, I want to express sincere appreciation for his thoughtful and most generous gifts.”
