Mid County Park Petanque, Bocce Court Now Open

jcc_new_logoThe Mid County Park is now home to a petanque and bocce court, which was constructed through volunteer efforts.

James City County provided court space and construction materials to the Mid County Park Petanque Group, which took a week to build the new court. The group will also be responsible for maintaining the court.

Petanque is a game played by throwing metal balls — called boules — at a target. The game can be played by two teams of one to four players.

Mid County Park’s petanque courts are open to the public during regular park hours; players should bring their own equipment and boules. The petanque group holds games at 2 p.m. every Thursday and Sunday; there will be instruction and extra boules available.
