Virginia’s sales tax holiday for hurricane and emergency preparedness equipment runs today through May 31.
Items designated by the Department of Taxation for hurricane preparedness, including portable generators, are tax-free during this holiday.
Portable generators must be priced at $1,000 or less and other eligible items must be priced at $60 or less per item to receive the sales tax break.
