The Williamsburg Police Department is investigating after a break-in at the China House restaurant on Monticello Avenue resulted in a broken pane of glass on a door and the theft of more than $150.
Maj. Greg Riley of the Williamsburg Police Department said that sometime between 10:30 p.m. Wednesday and the time the restaurant opened Thursday, someone broke the glass on the door to gain entry to the restaurant. More than $150 was stolen.
Nothing was damaged, but it was evident the thief looked through some cabinets and left a mess on the floor. Riley said there is no indication the theft was an inside job.
China House is located in the Williamsburg Shopping Center near the intersection of Monticello Avenue and Richmond Road.
