Public Forum to Examine Future of Economy

An upcoming conversation at The Mason School of Business will invite the public to discuss the future for the U.S. economy.

“Reviving the American Dream: A Discussion of the U.S. Economy” will take placed at 7 p.m. Oct. 22 in the Brinkley Commons Room at Miller Hall, on the campus of the College of William & Mary.

The forum will be moderated by Cathy Lewis, host of WHRO’s “Hearsay,” and will feature professors John Boschen, Deborah Hewitt, John Merrick and Dick Ash, along with alumna Melinda Hancock, CEO of Bon Secours Richmond Health System.

The speakers will touch on what is happening with the current economy and what the outlook is for the immediate future. “We are in a recovery because the economy is growing and jobs are being added,” Hewitt said in a press release. “We have clearly moved away from the edge of the precipice that we were confronted with in the fall of 2008. This all said, it is an anemic recovery, leaving many unemployed.”

The forum will also be broadcast live here.
