WILLIAMSBURG — The Williamsburg Symphony Orchestra has appointed three new members to its Board of Trustees, adding experience in law, business, government and civic leadership as the organization continues to expand its artistic and educational programs.

The new trustees — James Boswell, Mark Coberly and J. Bradley Fewell — were announced by the Williamsburg Music Association, which operates the Williamsburg Symphony Orchestra.

“We are delighted to welcome these outstanding community leaders to the board,” board Chair Jon E. Krapfl said in a statement. “Their insight, enthusiasm and commitment to the arts will be invaluable as we build on our mission and serve audiences throughout the region.”

As Chief Strategy Officer for The Williamsburg Institute, a partnership between William & Mary and the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, Boswell brings nearly three decades of experience in law, business and government, including service with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

A Norfolk-based attorney with Woods Rogers, Coberly focuses on maritime and transportation law and has represented domestic and international clients in complex litigation and regulatory matters.

A former General Counsel and Senior Vice President for Regulatory Affairs and Nuclear Security at Exelon Generation, one of the nation’s largest nuclear power operators, Fewell also served on the board of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.

Founded in 1984, the Williamsburg Symphony Orchestra presents classical, pops and educational performances throughout the region. The orchestra, led by Music Director Michael Butterman, performs a regular concert season and community events across the Historic Triangle.
