Open Door Concert Series to host BeauSoleil avec Michael Doucet

WILLIAMSBURG — Williamsburg Presbyterian Church’s Open Door Concert Series will welcome BeauSoleil avec Michael Doucet for an afternoon of classic Christmas themes steeped in Louisiana heritage Dec. 14.

With a signature blend of fiddle-driven melodies, accordion flourishes, and French-Louisiana storytelling, BeauSoleil has earned two Grammy Awards and eleven nominations, performed in numerous soundtracks and television shows, and garnered devoted fans around the world, according to series organizers.

The band is bringing in a special guest musician, Don Vappie, for the performance. Vappie lives at the intersection of Creole culture and banjo music, according to the series, and in addition to his numerous albums, he was awarded the Steve Martin Banjo Prize and recently inducted into the Banjo Hall of Fame. 

The concert begins at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 14. Doors open at 3 p.m. at Williamsburg Presbyterian Church. No tickets or reservations are required. As some concerts may reach capacity, it is encouraged to arrive early to ensure seating. For more information, see the Facebook event page.
