St. John Baptist Church will celebrate Homecoming and its 134th Church Anniversary on Sunday, Aug. 26. The Rev. Dr. Rex Ellis will be the guest speaker for the service, which begins at 11 a.m. The Alumni Choir, under direction of Linda Lee Badger, will provide special musical selections. Dinner on the Grounds will be served afterward.
Annual Revival services will take place Monday, Aug. 27-Thursday, Aug. 30. The Rev. Peter Evans, pastor of Colossian Baptist-Newport News, will be the revivalist. Service starts at 7 p.m.
St. John is at 1397 Penniman Rd., where everyone is welcome.
