Fire Causes Significant Damage to Tabb Area Panda Express

A fire caused significant damage to a Panda Express in the Tabb area Saturday morning. (York County)

TABB — Fire significantly damaged the Panda Express at 5009 Victory Blvd. in the Tabb area Saturday morning.

According to officials, at approximately 9:20 a.m., York County Department of Fire and Life Safety personnel were dispatched to a report of a fire at the restaurant. The fire was reported by both an employee and a passerby.

On arrival, flames and heavy smoke could be seen coming from the business. Crews quickly brought the fire under control and declared it fully extinguished at 10:28 a.m., according to officials. 

The restaurant was not yet open for business when the fire occurred. The building sustained significant damage, officials said, and Dominion Energy and Virginia Natural Gas were requested to address the utility connections to the business. There were no injuries. 

Mutual aid assistance was provided by the Newport News Fire Department and Langley AFB Fire Department, according to officials. 

The fire is currently under investigation.
