Fire at Rocco’s Smokehouse Grill Quickly Extinguished Tuesday Morning, No Injuries Reported

YORK COUNTY — York County Fire and Life Safety responded to and quickly extinguished a fire at Rocco’s Smokehouse Grill in York County Tuesday morning.

According to officials, personnel were dispatched to the report of a commercial structure fire at Rocco’s Smokehouse Grill in the 200 block of Bypass Road at approximately 7:15 a.m. Aug. 12. Upon arrival, fire and rescue units observed smoke coming from the back of the restaurant.

The fire was reported by an employee who had safely exited the building, according to officials. There were no other employees present, and no injuries occurred. The restaurant was not yet open to the public.

The fire was quickly located inside the structure and extinguished, the county said. Assistance was provided by the City of Williamsburg Fire Department.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

In a Facebook post, the restaurant said it would be closed until further notice as it rebuilds. Off-site Catering is still available.
