YORK COUNTY — Crews with the Virginia Department of Transportation are scheduled to implement a continuous, multi-week closure of the eastbound left-turn lane from Victory Boulevard onto Hampton Highway in York County as early as June 16.
VDOT estimates the closure will remain in place through mid-summer as construction continues on the Victory Boulevard/Route 171 widening project between George Washington Memorial Highway/Route 17 and Hampton Highway/Route 134 to help alleviate congestion along the corridor.
A detour will be in place directing eastbound traffic to continue on Victory Boulevard, turn left onto Big Bethel Road, and continue straight onto Yorktown Road to reach Hampton Highway, VDOT said.
All work is weather- and schedule-dependent, and the schedule is subject to change. For more information on the project, visit: vdot.
