WILLIAMSBURG — A home in the 100 block of Westover Avenue was damaged after catching fire Wednesday, according to the City of Williamsburg.
The City of Williamsburg Fire Department was dispatched at 2:23 p.m. for a residential structure fire, according to the city. When the first unit arrived on the scene at 2:24 p.m., smoke and fire were showing from the residence.
Crews quickly contained the fire, which was extinguished by 2:31 p.m. and marked under control at 3:08 p.m., the city said. Firefighters remained on the scene to remove debris and check for additional fire damage.
One person was in the home at the time, but was able to leave the residence prior to the arrival of emergency personnel.
The fire caused moderate damage to the home, according to the city, and one person is temporarily displaced.
The cause remains under investigation. No injuries were reported.
