James City supervisors to host town hall on county projects, road improvements

JAMES CITY COUNTY — Residents will get updates on county projects, the Kongsberg industrial property and transportation plans during a town hall hosted by two members of the James City County Board of Supervisors on Thursday.

The meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. July 30 at the James City County Library, 7770 Croaker Road.

Discussion topics will include updates on construction at the Kongsberg industrial property, Virginia Department of Transportation road improvement plans and other projects under consideration by the James City County Board of Supervisors. The presentation will be followed by a question-and-answer session.

Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace announced plans in September 2024 to establish a missile manufacturing facility in James City County to support production of its Naval Strike Missile and Joint Strike Missile programs. The company has stated the facility is expected to create more than 180 jobs and provide more than $100 million in economic benefits, while creating opportunities for local suppliers.
