WILLIAMSBURG— Maddie DeJesus, a senior graphic design major at Bob Jones University from Williamsburg, is gaining valuable real-world experience through an internship with Drum Creative in Greenville, South Carolina.

As a graphic design intern, DeJesus works on a variety of projects, many of which are for real clients. She collaborates closely with other designers and regularly participates in critiques and feedback sessions, experiences that have helped her grow creatively and professionally while refining her design skills.

“The time I’ve spent at my internship has probably helped me grow more than any class ever could,” DeJesus said. “Being able to work alongside professionals and observe how they approach problem-solving has been incredibly valuable.”

Through her internship, DeJesus has developed stronger collaboration skills and learned how to manage tight deadlines while contributing meaningfully to active projects.

“I’ve learned how to collaborate effectively, work under tight deadlines, and step into projects even when I don’t have all the answers right away,” DeJesus said.
