NEWPORT NEWS — Christopher Newport University sophomore running back Jordin Lennon has received another accolade following his 234-yard outburst Friday night at TowneBank Stadium. Lennon has been named to the National Team of the Week by D3football.com.
Lennon, from Yorktown, Va., closed out the 2024 season by rushing for four touchdowns in CNU’s 70-31 victory over the College of New Jersey. He averaged 15.6 yards per carry on 15 rushing attempts, and scored on runs of 50, 6, 7, and 64 yards. The transfer from Norfolk State concluded his first year as a Captain with a team-high 701 yards on 86 carries, averaging 8.2 yards per carry for the year, and his four scores Friday gave him eight for the season.
Christopher Newport ended the 2024 campaign on a five-game winning streak. Paul Crowley‘s squad finished the year with a 7-3 overall record and a 5-1 mark in the New Jersey Athletic Conference, finishing behind only Salisbury in the league standings.
