YORKTOWN — Performing vocalists from MVC Performance will present an evening of innovative covers, mashups, medleys, and original songs at Persnickety Crane Cafe on June 22.
RE-IMAGINE will feature fresh musical arrangements of songs from popular artists including Beyoncé, Walk The Moon, One Republic, Taylor Swift, Adele and Andra Day.
Additionally, attendees will be the first to enjoy the world premiere of three original songs composed by the studio’s songwriters, along with mashups of beloved Broadway musicals such as Beetlejuice, Chicago, and Evita, all accompanied by a live band.
The performers hail from Williamsburg, Yorktown, Newport News, Chesapeake, and Elizabeth City, North Carolina, according to MVC Performance.
“This isn’t a studio recital. This is an immersive musical experience! Our singers work hard to craft each of their performances to celebrate their unique sound and story through passionate performance. Each artist took ownership of their song arrangements, from instrumentation to blocking. You’re in for a treat with some musical twists and turns!” said Melissa V. Cartwright, MVC Performance founder & voice/performance coach.
The singer lineup includes Eileen Byrne, Jennifer Cousette, Sammie Gaskell, Miranda Steele, Heather Birdsill, Mikayla Cartwright, Gabriella Cartwright, Naomi Bond, Timothy Anderson, Nina Valerio, Shawn Cartwright, and Melissa V. Cartwright. The live band is comprised of Shawn Cartwright on drums, David Dodsworth on bass and guitar, and keyboardist Melissa V. Cartwright.
This event, beginning at 7 p.m., is presented by MVC Performance. Ticket prices start at $15. Treats and coffee will be available from Persnickety Crane Cafe during the show.
