WILLIAMSBURG — The Williamsburg Regional Library (WRL) is inviting the community to celebrate the end of its summer reading program at its End of Summer Splash Party at the James City County Library.
The party is from 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 12, and is presented with support from the Friends of WRL Foundation.
Families will be able to enjoy a giant foam cannon, water toys, and giant bubble makers. Popsicles and other treats will also be available to help guests cool down from the summer heat, the library said.
According to WRL, the event is the culmination of its Summer Reading program, which aims to combat the reduction in student summer reading through fun reading challenges and events. More than 2,400 children participated in the library’s Summer Reading program this year, it said.
