JCCPD: Arrest Made in Shooting of James City County Resident

JAMES CITY COUNTY — A man was arrested Monday night by James City County Police after the shooting of a 56-year-old James City County resident.

According to police, JCCPD received a report of a gunshot victim at the 7-Eleven at 8185 Croaker Road at approximately 6:20 p.m. on Feb. 27. The victim was found to have sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to VCU Medical Center in Richmond.

An investigation led police to the residence of the alleged shooter in the 8200 block of Croaker Road, where the shooting is believed to have occurred, police said. The suspect, James Bradsby, a 49-year-old James City County resident, was arrested before midnight after police obtained a search warrant.

Bradsby has been charged with malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and reckless handling of a firearm.
