Suspect Arrested, Large Quantity of Narcotics Seized in Lightfoot

LIGHTFOOT — A coordinated operation on Thursday, Sept. 14, led by James City County Tri-Rivers Drug Task Force Agents, resulted in the apprehension of a wanted suspect on drug-related charges at the Wawa in Lightfoot.

According to the James City County Police Department, the arrest was conducted at approximately 5:50 p.m. During this arrest, Task Force Agents searched the suspect’s vehicle and seized approximately 30 grams of heroin, 15 grams of crack cocaine, and approximately 132 grams of powder cocaine with a street value in excess of $15,000, police said.

According to police, the suspect, identified as 40-year-old Miguel Holmes of Hampton, faces three charges out of James City County related to the manufacture, sale, and possession of a controlled substance.

The Tri-Rivers Drug Task Force is comprised of investigators from the Virginia State Police, York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office, Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office, Middlesex County Sheriff’s Office, Mathews County Sheriff’s Office, City of Poquoson Police Department, James City County Police Department, and the City of Williamsburg Police Department.

The Department thanked the New Kent Sheriff’s Office and the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas (HIDTA) program for their assistance during the operation.
