State Police Investigating Hit-and-Run Fatality on Fenton Mill Road

JAMES CITY COUNTY — Virginia State Police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run that occurred Saturday night in James City County.

According to Virginia State Police (VSP), James City County Police (JCCPD) were dispatched to the hit-and-run pedestrian fatality Saturday night, and requested state police to lead the investigation at approximately 11:45 p.m.
According to a preliminary investigation, witnesses observed 64-year-old Andrew Davis of the 4800 block of Fenton Mill Road, Williamsburg, walking with his dog in the eastbound lane when a vehicle struck him from behind. The vehicle did not stop and continued eastbound on Fenton Mill Road.

Virginia State Police are seeking any witnesses driving in the area of Fenton Mill Road, in the vicinity of Croaker Road, either prior to or after the incident, who may have information.
