Wild Guests and Animal Friends

This year’s lineup of special guests makes camp even more exciting:

  • VIPER Reptile Rescue brings a slithery and scaled animal show
  • Loughan Campbell and her Labrador Retriever, Gin, showcase agility, advanced tricks and positive reinforcement training
  • Wild Birds Unlimited teaches campers about feathered friends in their own backyards

Meet the New Humane Education & Events Coordinator

New to the team and already making waves is Elise McCamant, the camp’s new Humane Education and Events Coordinator. Elise brings years of experience working with animals and youth education — from a living history museum in New York to a sanctuary for former research animals in Wyoming.

“I am thrilled to be joining The Heritage Humane Society as the Humane Education & Event Coordinator,” Elise McCamant shares. “People and animals don’t always speak the same language (in fact, they almost never do!), however, I think that the effort to find mutual understanding creates a lot of powerful opportunities for connection and self-growth.”

Her passion for connecting children with animals is a perfect fit for The Heritage Humane Society’s mission to inspire kindness, empathy and lifelong learning.
