STATEWIDE — Pinnacle Living, a not-for-profit retirement community chain, announced on Nov. 22 that it would be raising the minimum hourly rate to $15 for all of its staff across the Commonwealth.
“Raising wages to $15 per hour is not only a response to the current labor market, but it is also the right thing to do,” said Pinnacle Living CEO Chris Henderson. “Rather than wait for Federal and State legislative changes to occur, we can make these adjustments now.”
Pinnacle, formerly known as Virginia United Methodist Homes, runs five communities all over Virginia, including WindsorMeade, 3900 Windsor Hall Drive, in Williamsburg. All together, Pinnacle employs more than 850 people.
This pay raise is being done in conjunction with an aggressive recruiting campaign.
“The total well-being of our residents and team members has always been our primary goal at Pinnacle Living,” Henderson said. “In order to continue delivering on that promise, we need to evolve today to ensure we continue to retain and attract compassionate, talented, highly qualified team members which our residents rely on every day.
