The largest hotel owner and operator in Virginia has purchased the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel Williamsburg on Kingsmill Road.
Shamin Hotels, of Chester, purchased the hotel on Wednesday, according to a company news release.
The Doubletree, at 50 Kingsmill Road, will be the company’s 55th hotel.
“We are excited to add this beautiful conference property to our portfolio and look forward to becoming a part of the Williamsburg business community.” said Neil Amin, Shamin’s CEO.
The Williamsburg Doubletree has 295 rooms and suites, 437,000 square feet of meeting space and a ballroom that can accommodate up to 1,000 people, the company said.
The hotel is close to Busch Gardens, Kingsmill and several golf courses.
Shamin owns, operates and develops hotels under the Hilton, Marriott, Hyatt and InterContinental brands. Its properties span five states.
