The Zaxby’s in Williamsburg has closed its doors — and has no immediate plans to reopen.
A sign posted on the door to the Zaxby’s restaurant said, “This location is closed. There are no current plans for reopening. We apologize for the inconvenience. Thank you for your patronage.”
The Zaxby’s franchise owner Jane Wason and Zaxby’s media relations department were unavailable for comment Monday afternoon. However, a receptionist from Zaxby’s guest service line did confirm the location is closed permanently.
Zaxby’s was located in the Williamsburg Crossing shopping center on John Tyler Highway in James City County. The chain’s menu offers chicken, buffalo wings and sandwiches.
The location opened in 2010.
There are two Zaxby’s in Newport News and one in Hampton, according to Zaxby’s restaurant locator.
