A new bar – and its 80 craft beers – is moving into a prime location in New Town by the end of 2018.
The Brass Tap, a craft beer bar franchise, will take over a 3,400-square-foot space along Main Street across from the Regal Theater, according to a press release from Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer. They are expected to open in time for the holiday season.
Based in Tampa, Florida, and founded in 2008, the Brass Tap has more than 50 franchises and a mission statement to “create a premium beer experience” with a rotating selection of brews. The New Town bar will be the first Brass Tap in Hampton Roads.
Guests will be able to grab a pint, sample new beers and fill their growlers with one of 80 or so craft beer offerings, including local brews.
“We see them as our guests invited to a party we’re throwing,” said Brass Tap franchise owner Franklin Herring. “Every day, it’s our job to be attentive hosts and to make every aspect of our customer’s experience the best it can be.”
Customers can also pair their brews with food from a scratch kitchen, including burgers, artisan tacos and wraps.
Live acoustic music will be performed on an outdoor patio several nights each week. Outdoor seating will be covered and the patio will also have a beer garden.
“Our customers have been asking for more nightlife, and more unique eating and drinking establishments,” said Drew Haynie, first vice president at Thalhimer. “The Brass Tap checks a lot of boxes demanded by fans of New Town Shops On Main: fun, casual, and frequently-changing menu offerings.”
Haynie added that Brass Tap staff are trained to help guests explore craft beer styles and find brews to fit their taste. Guests can also add the Brass Tap mobile app to learn more about the bar’s menu and events.
For $1, customers can enter the Brew Crew program, which provides points which can be redeemed for rewards including gift cards and Brass Tap apparel.
