What started as communication between two creative minds at turning points in their lives will become a documentary on the art of friendship, and a local audience can get a sneak peek.
Writer and illustrator Tim Manley and filmmaker Jen Lee will discuss The 10 Letters Project at Artfully Yours, a Richmond Road consignment store and art space, at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Manley is the author of “Alice in Tumblr-land: And Other Fairy Tales for a New Generation,” which chronicles storybook characters finding their way in modern America, and Lee produced and directed “Indie Kindred,” a documentary that follows 10 artists building collaboration.
The 10 Letters Project tells the story of friendship between the pair through their correspondence at a time of career success while they pushed personal and professional boundaries.
At Artfully Yours, they will share a story of creativity and connection, showing a short film about the effort — The 10 Letters Project is set to be released in 2015 — and answering questions. Guests can ask questions and snack on light hors d’oeuvres.
Tickets are $25 each and must be purchased in advance. They can be purchased through the Artfully Yours website.
Call the store at 253-6932.
