Sept. 2 marks the first day of school in both the Williamsburg-James City County Schools and the York County School Division. Here is a guide to important dates and supply lists.
Williamsburg-James City County School District
The district will host three open houses this year — one for each level of school. The high school open house is first, meeting today. The middle school event is Wednesday and the elementary school open house will be held Thursday. Each event will run from 4 to 6 p.m. on its respective day.
There is one major change from last year, however. WJCC middle and high schools will host their back-to-school nights the same day as their open houses. High school back-to-school night will be today, and the middle schools’ will be Wednesday.
WJCC elementary schools will have a back-to-school night separate from their open houses. The elementary back-to-school night is scheduled for Sept. 18 from 6 to 8 p.m.
York County School Division
York County schools have a more complex schedule for open house events. Dates differ from school to school, and each building schedules different times for different grade levels or last names. The alphabetic calendar for YCSD open houses is below.
Bethel Manor Elementary – Aug. 28
