Each month the York County School Division recognizes students who have shown exceptional achievement and involvement at their schools. In November, those seniors are:
Erin Morrow of Bruton High School
Morrow serves as the secretary of the Student Council Association, activities coordinator of the Chemistry Honor Society and a member of the National Honor Society, Tri-M Music Honor Society, Key Club and Mu Alpha Theta math club. She’s also involved in Panther sports as a member of the swim and field hockey teams.
Morrow has played in the marching, concert and jazz bands for all four years of high school. She also received several awards: 2013 Williamsburg Consort Scholarship, 2013 Williamsburg Music Club Outstanding Performance Award and All State, All District and All Regional Orchestra honors.
Morrow was involved with all the above activities while maintaining a 4.71 GPA and is currently ranked No. 1 in the class of 2014.
Emily Beyer of Grafton High School
Beyer serves as the secretary of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and a member of the Interact Club and Spanish, Math and National Honor Societies. She’s also involved in Grafton High athletics serving as the captain of the varsity basketball and softball teams last year. She’s also made All-District First Team in basketball and All-District First and Second and All-Regional First teams in softball.
Beyer is also a member of Grafton’s marching band that qualified for District Band every year since her freshman year. She’s also a member of Teens Opposing Poverty.
Beyer is involved in all the above activities while maintaining a 4.39 GPA.
Rachel Deyerle of Tabb High School
Deyerle serves as president of the Executive Board for the Student Council Association and the academics editor and people co-editor of the yearbook staff. Deyerle is active with her church where she volunteers with elementary-aged children and serves on the greeting team that welcomes new church members and visitors.
In the past, Deyerle served as the secretary of her sophomore class and the PTSA liaison of her junior class.
Anne Mills of York High School
Mills serves as a member of the Model United Nations, the Spanish National, Mu Alpha Theta Math and National Honor Societies. She is also involved in Falcon athletics in varsity lacrosse, indoor track and cross-country.
Mills spent nine weeks as a Senate Page in Richmond where she took part in the legislative process through work assignments. She also spent last summer interning for Judge Frank J. Santoro in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.
